My path began on stage, performing the <strong data-start=\"485\" data-end=\"496\">Santoor<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"501\" data-end=\"510\">Cello<\/strong> with the <strong data-start=\"520\" data-end=\"550\">Modern Orchestra of Tehran<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"559\" data-end=\"582\">Tehran Philharmonic<\/strong> between 1999 and 2008, where I first understood how sound becomes architecture, and how silence, too, can carry meaning.<\/p><p data-start=\"705\" data-end=\"1070\">From 2000 to 2007, I worked closely with the remarkable <strong data-start=\"761\" data-end=\"787\">Prof. Khausrow Maulana<\/strong> in the <strong data-start=\"795\" data-end=\"824\">acoustic music laboratory<\/strong> at the <strong data-start=\"832\" data-end=\"856\">University of Tehran<\/strong>, exploring the physics of resonance and the metaphysics of tone. In those quiet experimental spaces, I began to hear echoes , of ancient instruments, of forgotten voices, of questions the future had not yet asked.<\/p><p data-start=\"1072\" data-end=\"1491\">Between 2002 and 2004, I helped found the music section of the <strong data-start=\"1135\" data-end=\"1159\">Young Artist Program<\/strong> at <strong data-start=\"1163\" data-end=\"1184\">Sooreh University<\/strong>, nurturing emerging talents during a time when Iran\u2019s cultural spaces were in need of rebuilding. A few years later, I joined the <strong data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1360\">Science Section at UNESCO\u2019s Tehran office<\/strong> (2007\u20132008), where I contributed to interdisciplinary projects connecting <strong data-start=\"1435\" data-end=\"1446\">culture<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1448\" data-end=\"1461\">education<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1467\" data-end=\"1490\">scientific research<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"1493\" data-end=\"1818\">In winter 2012, I traveled to <strong data-start=\"1523\" data-end=\"1538\">South India<\/strong>, entering sacred temple spaces where <strong data-start=\"1576\" data-end=\"1606\">music breathes as devotion<\/strong>. Immersed in the rituals of Dravidian religious culture, I recorded traditional rhythms and melodies , sonic traces that continue to shape my <strong data-start=\"1749\" data-end=\"1787\">ethno-archaeological understanding<\/strong> of music as collective memory.<\/p><p data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"2229\">Between 2014 and 2016, I curated and coordinated the archive project <em data-start=\"1889\" data-end=\"1911\">\u201cVoices from Beyond\u201d<\/em> \u2014 a collaboration between <strong data-start=\"1938\" data-end=\"1959\">Berlin and Tehran<\/strong> that sought to preserve early recordings of Iranian music captured on <strong data-start=\"2030\" data-end=\"2047\">wax cylinders<\/strong>. These fragile, crackling archives\u2014some of the oldest audio documents of Iranian voices, were saved from disappearance with the support of the <strong data-start=\"2190\" data-end=\"2228\">German Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"2231\" data-end=\"2636\">From <strong data-start=\"2236\" data-end=\"2252\">2019 to 2022<\/strong>, during the isolating years of the COVID-19 pandemic, I initiated and led an <strong>Archaeomusicological research group<\/strong> that contributed to international conferences at <strong data-start=\"2419\" data-end=\"2447\">Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2452\" data-end=\"2473\">Leiden University<\/strong>. These efforts helped establish a broader academic interest in<strong data-start=\"2537\" data-end=\"2566\">\u00a0Archaeomusicology<\/strong>\u00a0for Iran\u2014a long-overlooked yet profoundly rich field among Iranian studies scholars, musicians and Archaeologists.<\/p><p data-start=\"2638\" data-end=\"2892\">Across all these experiences \u2014 <strong data-start=\"2669\" data-end=\"2708\">performance, research, preservation<\/strong> \u2014 my belief remains unchanged: that music is not only an art, but an <strong data-start=\"2778\" data-end=\"2805\">archaeology of the soul<\/strong>.
