A short brief of some of my previous projects
Archaeological excavations in Iran, 2003-2008 :
I have started excavation training as a student of Archaeology in Iran at the University of Tehran at its Neolithic sites in Qazvīn, 2003 and continues learning up to 2005 under the supervision of Dr. Hekmatollah Mollasalehi and Dr. Hassan Fazeli Nashli. Then as Master student I could join some historical projects in Elamite and Pre Achaemenid site in southwestern Iran in Khuzestan and Fars province as well which the most significant were from 2006 to 2008 era in “Haft Tappeh” , “ Chogha Zanbil” and “Dehno” and was directed by Dr. Behzad Mofidi and his collogues from Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. These Elamite studies supported my archmusicolgical hypothesis and motivated me for doing my PhD in Berlin , FU , Germany.
About Me
Fields of Specialization:
I have Studied musicology during my undergraduate studies at the University of Tehran. I continued studies on Archaeology at the same university and received another Bachelor and also Master’s degree in 2008 on Iranian Historical Archaeology. In 2009, I started my Pre-PhD studies at Free University in Berlin, working on my dissertation started around 2011 and its about Archaeology of Music in the middle Elamite era.
I have conducted several archaeological or ethno-musicological field researches in Iran, south India, Turkey and Syria. Recently I became involved with modern heritage studies and archaeology of the recent past through excavation projects on labor camps in Germany. On one hand the Oral heritage, such as music archaeology, ethnomusicology and acoustics’ history and on the other hand dark heritage studies, excavations on modern sites particularly those within wars and conflicts constitute the core of my research interests.
Additional Areas of Research, Teaching, and Specialization:
Musician in Western Classical music (as cello player); Musician in Iranian classical music (as Santoor player), folk musicology, language pedagogy in Modern Persian literature and poetry; history of the ancient Iran in pre-Islamic era and specialist in the Elamite Achaemenid era and oriental heritage studies.

2013 – 2020: Ph.D. candidate at Free University of Berlin, Program in middle eastern Archaeology. Portfolio in Iranian Archaeological Studies with the Dissertation Title: “Iconography and probable Function of the Elamite Musician Terracotta Figurines in second Millennium B.C”
2010 – 2012: Pre-PhD research preparation at Free University of Berlin in Oriental Studies.
